A custom AI agent is software that takes a goal, uses your business information and tools, carries out several steps, and hands unusual cases to a person. Unlike a chatbot that only answers questions, an agent can do the work: read a request, look up the right records, update a system and draft the reply.
We design, build and deploy agents around specific tasks in your business, connect them to the systems you already use, and make sure they can be trusted before they touch customers or money.
Who it is for
Agent development fits companies that:
- Have a repetitive, multi-step workflow that takes hours of staff time each week.
- Move information between email, documents, spreadsheets and business systems by hand.
- Have tried an off-the-shelf chatbot and found it cannot reach their data or take action.
- Want automation that handles exceptions sensibly instead of breaking on them.
If you are not yet sure which workflow to automate, start with AI transformation to find the best candidate.
What you get
- An agent design. The task, the decisions the agent may make on its own, the actions that need a person's approval, and what happens when it is unsure.
- Integrations. Connections to the tools the agent needs, such as email, your CRM, documents, calendars or internal databases, with only the permissions it needs.
- An evaluation suite. A set of real examples the agent is tested against before launch and after every change, so quality is measured, not assumed.
- Guardrails. Limits on what the agent can do, approval steps for consequential actions, and logging of everything it does.
- Deployment and monitoring. The agent running in your environment, with a way to see what it did and how well.
- Handover. Documentation and training so your team understands, supervises and can extend the agent.
How it works
1. Listen
We study the workflow with the people who do it today: the inputs, the steps, the judgment calls and the exceptions. We measure how long it takes now, so we can show the difference later.
2. Shape
We write the agent's job as a clear specification, much like a playbook, and collect real examples to test against. We choose the models and tools that fit your systems, budget and data rules.
3. Build
We build the agent in small steps and test each one against the examples. We start with the agent drafting and a person approving, then widen what it does on its own only where the results justify it.
4. Sustain
After launch we watch its results, fix the cases it gets wrong, and add new examples to the test suite. Your team gets the dashboards and know-how to keep it running.
Where agents work well
- Sales. Qualify new inquiries, update the CRM and draft a personal follow-up.
- Customer service. Find the relevant order or policy, draft a reply and escalate complaints.
- Back office. Read invoices and documents, extract the details and flag anything unusual.
- Scheduling. Handle booking requests, check availability and send confirmations.
- Reporting. Pull figures from several systems and write the weekly summary.
How long it takes
A first agent for one well-understood workflow is typically a matter of weeks, from design to running with real work. Integrations with older or custom systems can add time. We agree a plan and milestones once we have seen the workflow.
How pricing works
It starts with a free conversation about the workflow you have in mind. We then propose a fixed scope and price for designing and launching the first agent. Running costs, mainly AI model usage and any software subscriptions, are estimated up front and paid directly to the providers, so there are no surprises.
Common questions
What is the difference between a chatbot and an AI agent?
A chatbot answers questions in a conversation. An agent pursues a goal across several steps and can use your tools to act. Read more in chatbot vs custom AI agent.
Can an agent make mistakes?
Yes, which is why every agent we build is tested against real examples, limited to the actions it needs, and set up to ask a person when it is unsure or when money, customers or records are at stake.
Who owns the agent?
You do. The code, prompts, configuration and test examples are handed over with the agent.
Do we need a technical team to run it?
No. We design the monitoring and handover for the people who will supervise the agent day to day.
